Introducing Item Search
A good recommendation needs enough context to be useful later. But typing every title, link, image, and detail by hand can turn a quick save into a chore.
Item Search is a faster way to add media recommendations to Favstir. When you create a media item, search for the source first. Favstir starts you with verified details from Wikipedia, then leaves you in control of the title, tags, notes, and link before you save.

Start With a Source, Then Make It Yours
Choose Media when adding an item, then use Search for a source to find what you are looking for. Selecting a result fills in the important starting details, including its title, description, image, and source link.
From there, everything remains editable. Add your own tags, write a note about why it belongs on the list, update the title, or use a different URL when that better serves the recommendation. The live preview shows how the saved item will look as you work.
This means you get the speed of a search result without losing the personal point of a list.
Keep the Useful Details With the Recommendation
Once saved, an item keeps its image, source attribution, tags, and any context you added. The detail view gives the recommendation a clear, visual home and keeps its original source one click away.

Whether you are collecting games to play, movies to watch, albums to revisit, or articles to share, Item Search gives each recommendation a stronger starting point.
A Better Way to Build Lists You Will Return To
The goal is not to automate the judgment out of recommendations. It is to make it easier to capture the details that help someone understand why an item is worth their time.
Use Item Search to get the factual basics in place, then add the perspective only you can provide. Your lists stay personal, while becoming easier to scan, share, and revisit.
